Honey extractors for Voza and Sasamunga honey farmers

March 2016: Because of the good achievements by the honey farmers in Voza and Sasamunga villages, NRDF has supplied both groups with some new honey farming equipment. As the number of members and the production of honey by the Katazo honey farmers’ network in Sasamunga have increased, NRDF upgraded the network with a new four frame extractor. This will enable the farmers to extract honey much faster and service more members. The two frame extractor was given to the two farmer’s families in Voza, together with some additional equipment such has a smoker, cloves and veil. The Voza farmers have made good progress and a third farmer family will be assisted to start a farm soon.  Meanwhile the women linked to the Katazo farmers network have decided to establish their own women saving club and NRDF will assists them with training and some supplies such as locks, hinges and stationary.
