Barekasi Rainforest Lodge official opened

On the 11th of November representatives of the Dutch Millennium Foundation (DMF) and NRDF officially opened the eco-lodge in Barekasi Rainforest Reserve. DMF is one of the donors who provided financial assistance to build the visitors compound. Tetepare Descendants’ Association (TDA) staff hosted a very successful week for five conservation and ecotourism workers from Kolombangara and Vella Lavella Islands in November 2012 on Tetepare Island. Research facilitation and ecotourism are other strong possibilities for income generation and knowledge capture.
