In August 2017 NRDF held their first ever Annual Bee keeping farmers conference in Sasamungga in Choisuel Province, Solomon Islands. There were 30 participants who took part in the conference. March 2016: Because of the good achievements by the honey farmers in Voza and Sasamunga villages, NRDF has supplied both groups with some new honey farming equipment. First honey harvest by Choiseul bee farmers

The production of 30 litres of honey this month by bee farmers in the project areas in Choiseul showed the great potential the honey programme has in these areas. In four villages (Boeboe, Gorabara, Rarakisi and Sasamunga) farmers joined NRDF staff members  to harvest  honey from their hives. Australian volunteer promotes honey and legal knowledge

A background in environmental resource assessment/management and having founded and managed an Australian business, was a perfect background for 2011/12 Australian volunteer Anna Price. In August 2011, Anna began working for NRDF based in Sasamunga (Choiseul), supporting the local sawmill business and the community-based organisation.
