From 2-6 December, a workshop was held in Sasamunga village (Choiseul) on sustainable forest management and FSC™ certification. Certifying NRDF sawmill operations in 2013

There will be a major boost for NRDF’s 2012 Forest Stewardship Council (FSC©) accreditation by the end of 2013, when more NRDF sawmill operations are FSC© certified under the NRDF group certificate. FSC© is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organisation established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests. FSC© is the world’s highest standard of sustainable timber, which means that a higher value can be gained for these timber resources.
